4:43An-Nisa · Verse 43
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنتُمْ سُكَـٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَعْلَمُوا۟ مَا تَقُولُونَ وَلَا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِى سَبِيلٍ حَتَّىٰ تَغْتَسِلُوا۟ ۚ وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَآءَ أَحَدٌ مِّنكُم مِّنَ ٱلْغَآئِطِ أَوْ لَـٰمَسْتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا۟ مَآءً فَتَيَمَّمُوا۟ صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا فَٱمْسَحُوا۟ بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا
O you who believe! Approach not As-Salât (the prayer) when you are in a drunken state until you know (the meaning) of what you utter, nor when you are in a state of Janâba ,(i.e. in a state of sexual impurity and have not yet taken a bath) except when travelling on the road (without enough water, or just passing through a mosque), till you wash your whole body. And if you are ill, or on a journey, or one of you comes after answering the call of nature, or you have been in contact with women (by sexual relations) and you find no water, perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands (Tayammum)1. Truly, Allâh is Ever Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving.

لاَ تَقْرَبُواْ ... النهي عن الصلاة في حالة وجود أي عارض على العقل، والمبالغة في مجانبة المحرمات.
الصَّلاَةَ ... الصلاة أعظم عبادة بعد التوحيد، وأول ما يحاسب عليه العبد فَإِن صَلحَت بشروطها فَقَد أفلَح.
سُكَارَى ... المسكرات قذر مادي ومعنوي، فلتجتنب على كل حال، مع الإسراع في إزالتها.
حَتَّىَ تَعْلَمُواْ ... الابتعاد عما يشوش القلب؛ لضرورة العلم بما يناجي به العبد ربه، وطهارة الروح قبل البدن.

حرص شريعتنا على التيسير ورفع الحرج؛ حيث أباح الله تعالى التيمم عند فقد الماء.

Allah gives the following command in surah al-Nisa':
[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنتُمْ سُكَارَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ]
O you who believe, do not approach the prayer while you are drunk until you know what you are saying [43]
In his commentary on this, sheikh Faysal Aal Mubarak mentioned:
[وري ابن جرير عن علي : أنه كان هو وعبد الرحمن ورجل آخر شربوا...
One Step Towards Forbidding Drinking
As we have seen, this passage started with the commands to worship God alone, associating no partners with Him. Prayer is the closest of all rituals to the central concept of worship.
